How to Become a Union Bricklayer

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must not be less than 18 years of age
     

  • Shall possess sufficient reading and math skills to satisfactorily complete on-the-job training and related technical instruction. A high school diploma or GED is recommended

  • Physically capable of performing the essential functions of the apprenticeship program

  • Valid driver's license and proof of reliable transportation

  • Must pass a drug test

Apprenticeship consists of :

  • On-the-Job Training

  • A MINIMUM of 144 hours per year of classroom and related trade training 

  • Math

  • Blueprint Reading

  • Trade Historu

  • Safety Training

  • Hands-on Training

Applications must be filled put and turned in on the same visit

  • $20.00 Application Fee (Cashier's Check or Money Order)

Wages
Benefits

Starting pay for all trades is 50% of the journeyworker wage rate established by the trade specific collective bargaining agreement. Wage increases are based on hours of on-the-job training and compliance with the Training Center/ U.S. Department of Labor's apprenticeship standards.

Major health care, pension and annuity are included as a part of the wage package
